Brajnikoff Writing Samples

Two areas of samples: computer technical and fitness.

Computer Technical:
I worked as a systems and middleware programmer, as an information developer (tech writer), and web master on z/TPF products for 29 years.

The z/Transaction Processing Facility (z/TPF) product is a large, native operating system running on IBM's fastest mainframe hardware. z/TPF installations are some of the largest, most complex operating environments in the world. Customers build application systems on top of it. For example, airline ticketing and web applications are created by an individual airline and run on their z/TPF platform in their data center.

z/TPF got started in the late 1960s as the Airline Control Program (ACP). Through the years, IBM has updated and refined the system to work as a high performance, networking operating system. It processes well in excess of 50K transactions/second.

  • Airline Control System (ALCS) is a program that performs the same functions as z/TPF (but at a slower rate) as an MVS z/OS system application.
  • TPF Data Facility (TPFDF) is the z/TPF support for relational databases.
  • Major customers: Airlines, Bank Credit Cards, among others.

I worked as an Information Developer (technical writer and programmer) for IBM DataPower, which is a TCP/IP network optimizing device.

Fitness:
During my later years of personal training I started writing on fitness topics. Linked here is an extract of my currently published Exercise Protocols. This collects several, earlier monographs on training clients with conditions (like diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, obesity, etc.) and amplifies them with current research and more extensive condition treatment.
Note, the Protocols book is structured for a smaller 6x9 format consistent with both hardcopy and eBooks leaving extra white space in the 8-1/2x11 PDF format.
